This is where Hy-Bor makes its debut, a hybrid construction that combines carbon and boron fibers to address the different stresses produced during impact. When the racquet hits the ball, the carbon counteracts tensile forces, while the boron works on compressive forces. Two materials with different functions, inserted in the same strategic point to help the frame remain more stable as the swing intensifies. The change is especially noticeable on more powerful shots: the impact is more compact, the racquet moves less on contact, and the response reaches the arm more cleanly. Hy-Bor therefore does not alter the explosive nature of the Extreme, but offers greater support precisely when power and spin put the structure under greatest pressure.

The new Extreme doesn't change its identity, but rather evolves based on what has always worked. Hy-Bor represents a step forward in a project that was already strongly geared towards spin. The 2026 version of HEAD's racquet retains the variable-size elliptical cross-section and open string pattern, two elements that promote head speed and string movement during impact, facilitating the generation of more accentuated rotation. The Spin Grommets, designed to leave greater freedom to the main strings and facilitate ball contact, and the Sound Grommets, designed to optimize vibrations and sound response, also remain. Finally, Auxetic 2.0 reacts to frame deformations and provides immediate feedback, strengthening the connection between player, racquet, and ball.
